Melbourne’s Hayden Calnin signs with Nettwerk Music [exclusive]

Aussie singer-songwriter and producer Hayden Calnin has inked a label deal with Nettwerk Music.

The rising Melbourne artist has seen his music picked up for syncs on popular TV shows including Suits, The Vampire Diaries, Teen Wolf and So You Think You Can Dance USA, as well as the official UK trailer Oscar-nominated film Room.

He’s also recently spent time recently producing for Aussie artists including Didirri, Harrison Storm and Woodlock.

Hayden tells TMN  that he’s been waiting for the right fit to sign a new label deal.

“Signing to label was something I was never looking to rush into,” he says.

“When I came across Nettwerk, they really stood out to me as a label that had a lot of integrity and respect for their artists and their music. That was a big thing for me going in, I’ve never been good at being told what to create.

“I am so happy to now be working with such a great team and to be part of a family where I’m in great company with many Aussie friends on the roster, including longtime collaborator Harrison Storm.”

Nettwerk’s Mark Jowett says the team were immediately drawn in by Hayden when first hearing his voice.

“When we heard Hayden for the first time we were immediately struck by his voice and how he creates musical landscapes that support his voice in conveying songs of great emotive power,” he says.

“It made us beyond excited to work with an artist, like Hayden, who we believe can really move listeners and fans with the power of his voice and music.”
