2024 AAM Awards: Shortlist Announced

2024 AAM Awards: Shortlist Announced

Andrew Klippel (Ourness), Ashleigh Hills (UNIFIED Music Group), Jeremy Furze, (Applejack Music) and Nick O’Byrne (Look Out Kid) will go toe-to-toe for manager of the year honours at the 2024 Association of Artist Managers Awards, nominations for which are announced today, April 17.

Also cracking the 10-strong shortlist for the top manager award is Dan Nascimento, (UNIFIED Music Group), James Fava (Intergalactic Fantastic Worldwide), Jamie-Rose Fowler and Charlotte Ried (Powerhouse Management), Leigh Treweek (Handshake MGMT), Nathan Farrell & Adam Booth (Weez) (Calibre Music Management),and Sundowner’s Simone Ubaldi and Andrew Parisi, winners at the inaugural AAM Awards in 2022.

Set for Wednesday, May 1 at the Crowbar in Sydney/Eora, ahead of the 2024 APRA Music Awards, the lunchtime celebration recognises the “incredible domestic and international achievements by Australian artist managers, shining a light on the key figures behind the global success of Australian artists,” reads a statement.

On the day, the trade body will present breakthrough manager of the year, the community engagement award, the patrons gift award and the legacy award which, as previously reported, is bestowed to Spinning Top Music’s Jodie Regan, who has guided the careers of Tame Impala, Pond, Haiku Hands and others.

The patrons gift, a monetary prize given to an emerging manager to assist them in building their career, was conceived by the beloved, late Hoodoo Gurus manager Michael McMartin, the reigning legacy award winner.

Also, the APRA AMCOS Lighthouse Award recipient will be unveiled at the 2024 ceremony.

Myf Warhurst will host and organisers tease “special guest performances.”

The AAM won its own prize when, last week, Music Australia confirmed the trade body as an approved delivery partner and a recipient of much-needed federal core funding. With this funding, the AAM now has the assurance of full time running costs – for at least the first 12 months of this pilot year, according to the organisation.

Nominees for the 2024 AAM Awards are determined through consultation with a music industry judging committee. See the full list of nominees below.
