360 Deals: Aussie Rapper Signs With Teamwrk Records, Lucky Ent

360 will enter the New Year with a new label and management.

Announced Tuesday (Dec. 13), the Australian hip-hop star signs with Lucky Ent’s Teamwrk Records, the Melbourne-based label that launched Masked Wolf’s “Astronaut In The Ocean” into the stratosphere.

And on the management side, he slots into Lucky Ent fold, led by Jarrod Van Der Staay (head of marketing, Teamwrk Records/Lucky Ent) and Jae Butt (Masked Wolf, Tyron Hapi).

“After everything I’ve gone through personally and being in the game for such a long time, It felt like the right time for a fresh start, a clean slate (so to speak),” comments 360, real name Matt Colwell.

“I’m stoked to be working alongside Teamwrk and Lucky. I’m really Looking forward to what we can bring to the table over the next few years, I’m amped af.”

360’s star rose the early 2010s with the release of his multi-platinum album Falling & Flying, which peaked at No. 4 on the ARIA Chart and yielded seven hit singles, including “Boys Like You” featuring Gossling.

He’d go on to tour with childhood hero Eminem, bag a brace of ARIA Awards, including breakthrough artist in 2012, and win breakthrough songwriter of the year (with Styalz Fuego) at the 2013 APRA Music Awards.

Follow-up Utopia went to No. 2 on the national chart in 2014, and his most recent album, 2017’s Vintage Modern, peaked at No. 3.

Last year, Universal Music Australia released the 10th anniversary edition of his Falling & Flying.

Around the time of that reissue, 360 made his return to the public eye by way of a wide-ranging interview with Sydney-based hip-hop tastemaker Taha Sayed, and relaunching Rappertag, a popular YouTube series of rap cyphers that had lay dormant since 2014.

There’s more music on the way.

The rapper, singer and songwriter has been working on new music in recent months with Tyron Hapi, the Melbourne producer who worked on Masked Wolf’s mega-hit “Astronaut in the Ocean.”

New material is “coming very soon,” enthuses a statement from his new reps.

“We’re super excited to be working with 360,” notes Butt.

“He’s an iconic name in the history of Aussie hip-hop and honestly can’t wait to unleash his new music to fans who have been waiting many years for it.”

Van Der Staay adds, “It’s really exciting to be working alongside 360 as he embarks on the next chapter of his career, having known 60 for a while, right now he is as determined and dedicated as I’ve seen him and it feels good to be able to surround him with a team at Lucky and Teamwrk that are devoted to elevating him and his music.”

Established in 2012, the independent Lucky Ent group is active in recording, booking, management, events, and more.
