Violent Soho sign UK deal with Easy Life Records/Sony

Violent Soho have signed to new rock label Easy Life Records for the UK. TheirHungry Ghosts album, which is Gold in Australia after selling 30,000 units, is released there on June 15.

Easy Life was set up last year by Jamie Osman of Red Light Management and is affiliated with Sony Red. Also on the label are Lower Than Atlantis, Saves The Day and Big Sixes.

Osman said: "We are so excited to be working with Violent Soho and (their Australian label) IOHYOU. After tracking their success in Australia it was something we just had to be involved with. We look forward to building a platform for them here in the UK and Europe! 'Hell Fuck Yeah'."

Hungry Ghosts was released in Australia last September and placed at #60 on the ARIA Year-End Albums Chart of 2014.

It was also released in the United States that month through SideOneDummy where it got strong reviews and Blink 182’s Mark Hoppus felt compelled to tweet, “Hi Violent Soho, I like your band.”

The Brisbane-based band has not toured internationally behind Hungry Ghosts. The album was all about setting them up in Australia, Johann Ponniah of IOHYOU told TMN. But that will come with the next album, which the band is working on already. Some new material should surface in late 2015, with international touring planned for 2016 behind it.
