New Signings and Team-Ups: Overseas deals for Jakubi; Furrs land US booking deal; Three new names for 360 Agency

US, UKagents for In Hearts Wake

Byron Bay’s In Hearts Wake have joined The Agency Group. Their agents are Aussie expat Tom Taaffe and Matt Andersen, representing Europe/Asia and North America respectively. The heavy rock five-piece, whose Earthwalker album this year reached #5 on the ARIA chart, do their first North American tour, opening for Stick To Your Guns and The Amity Affliction between February 12 and March 8 over 23 dates. Earthwalker was released there in October via UNFD / Rise Records.

In the meantime, the band’s UK tour in October saw them receive acclaim from Kerrang!, Rock Sound and Metal Hammer. Taafe, who also represents Sleeping With Sirens, The Used and Asking Alexandria among others, wants to get them back there for the summer festival circuit.

Caroline Australia confirms ALTA state

Caroline Australia signed Melbourne’s electronic-pop duo ALTA and release their new single Hold Your Fire. Formed by soul singer/rapper Hannah Lesser and producer Julius Dowson, they released two EPs Stay Awhile (Dec 2012) and Game Broke Out (November 2013). Since an appearances at Soundwave Croatia, opening for Tokimonsta in Vienna, and a headline show in London, they’ve been working on new material.

Overseas co-management, agency, for Jakubi

Just before they return next year to the US, where they sold out shows during a recent extensive tour, Melbourne band Jakubi signed a co-management deal with 7s Management (The Dandy Warhols, Dinosaur Jr). It’s also joined UK's Coda Agency for European bookings. Closer to home, they embark on a 11-date run through VIC, NSW and QLDfrom December 11. Latest single Couch Potato has topped half a million Soundcloud streams.

Brisbane’s Furrs land USbooking deal

Brisbane blues rock duo The Furrs landed a deal with US booking agency High Road Touring to represent them for live work in North America. They were spotted at Big Sound 2014 by Austin, Texas-based agent Matt Hickey after the duo scored a showcase slot courtesy of triple j. Hickey said, "After watching The Furrs play just their second song, I knew the band was special, and someone I had to work with.” A US tour is planned for 2015.

Bliss Bliss N Eso join White Ribbon campaign

Learning from Eso’s controversial Instagram incident, Bliss N Eso threw their profile and social media reach behind White Ribbon to raise awareness of men’s violence against women. During White Ribbon Day yesterday, they raised money and support through the sale of a limited edition t-shirt designed by the trio, incorporating their message of "Peace, Love, Unity."

Sony Music Australia lands Giorgio Moroder

Sony Music Entertainment Australia landed disco and EMD pioneer Giorgio Moroder, as part of a worldwide deal with Sony Music International and RCA Records. Moroder, who performed in Australia this year including slots at Vivid Live, has enlisted Kylie Minogue, SIA, Britney Spears, Charli XCX, Mikky Ekko ,Foxes and Matthew Koma for his first solo album in 30 years, due in autumn. Of his new track 74 Is The New 24, Moroder says,"Dance music doesn’t care where you live.It doesn’t care who your friends are.It doesn’t care how much money you make. It doesn't care if your 74 or if you are 24 because… 74 is the new 24!”

Adelaide’s Tom West partners with Audio Blood

Adelaide singer songwriter Tom West partners with Canadian PR company Audio Blood to represent his triple j supported single The Call and upcoming EP through Canada for the first half of 2015 until Canadian Music Week. He followed his shows at CMJ Music Marathon in New York with a one month tour of Peru. Nominated for Best Acoustic Act at the recent Fowler's Live Music Awards, he’s been recording with producer John Castle.

Three new names for 360 Agency

Melbourne’s dance 360 Agency signed up three new names. The first two areCombo & Lesware from Melbourne’s west, whose latest productions include Combo’s official remix of Joel Fletcher’s Swing and Leswara’s new take on Cocaine. The third artist is Wasteland, the brainchild of WA-born producer Matt Riley who’s released tracks on international label Cr2 Records.

New World Artists adds Tasmania’s Luca Brasi

Tasmanian punk rock outfit Luca Brasi, currently creating a buzz on their national tour, will now be booked by NSW-based New World Artists agent Edwin Tehrani. After the March release of their second album By A Thread on Poison City Records, the band played through Australia and China. The band is managed by NMA Management's Adrian Kelly.
