Native Tongue to expand US presence

As part of its 10th anniversary, independent Australasian publisher Native Tongue plans to expand its US operation.

The American offshoot was set up in 2012 as a JV with sync agency, Sugaroo, after successful placements for its local signings in the market. These included placements on TV shows such as True Blood, Grey’s Anatomy, Breaking Bad, The Vampire Diaries, CSI, Gossip Girl, Being Human and Teen Wolf, as well as ads for Heineken, Guinness, Lexus, Qantas, Alfa Romeo, Coke Zero, Adidas, Bonds, Volvo, 02 and Tommy Hilfiger.

Native Tongue confirmed, “In the later part of 2014 the company will announce major initiatives which will see the scope of Native Tongue in America dramatically increased.”

The company, started by Chris Gough and now helmed by son Jaime Gough, has offices in Melbourne, Auckland and London. Its Australasian roster includes Cut Copy, The Waifs, The Amity Affliction, Oh Mercy, Calling All Cars ,Gossling, Clairy Browne and The Bangin’ Rackettes, Gin Wigmore, Strange Talk, Dale Cornelius, Dialectrix, The Veils, Henry Wagons, Philadelphia Grand Jury, Plutonic Lab, The Black Seeds and The Phoenix Foundation.
