Mötley Crüe to announce Australian dates

Mötley Crüe are about to announce Australian dates for autumn as the second part of their two-year Final Tour.

The veteran metal-pop band declared in a statement, “After thirty-four years performing together, the 2015 leg of the Final Tour will see the band play Japan in February, then Australia/New Zealand in (the northern) spring.”

Mötley Crüe first revealed at a press conference in their hometown of Los Angeles in January 2014 that they were winding up their touring with a two-year run. They even signed a contract that they would not reform after they play their last show on December 31 at Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In 2014, between July 2 and November 22, they played 72 cities to nearly 1 million fans and grossed US$45 million.

This week, Crüe revealed the dates and venues of all the 2015 shows with the Australian and New Zealand shows to be announced as early as this week.

The Australian/NZ dates will be in between five shows in Japan from February 11 to 17 and three European festival shows in June. They are confirmed for the Sweden Rock Festival in Solvesborg on June 5, Nova Rocks in Austria on June 12, and Download in the UK on June 14.

Between July 22 to December 31, the band return to the United States, Canada and Mexico for 33 more shows. These take in New York, Denver, Detroit, Philadelphia, Toronto, Montreal, New Mexico, Miami, New Orleans and finally Los Angeles.

Crüe will mark this latest announcement with an appearance tonight (January 22) on The Tonight Show.

To coincide, they also release a new single All Bad Things with a video that looks back at their lengthy career. The track will be included in an “ultimate collectors” package that is currently being compiled for release this year.

Mötley Crüe last toured Australia in 2013 with Kiss.
