Kyle and Jackie O fans desert 2Day for Kiis FM
Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O have managed to bring listeners across to their new breakfast show on Kiis FM, lifting ratings by an impressive six points in the first survey period of 2014.
In contrast, 2Day FM’s breakfast show – once the flagship show for the station and now helmed by Merrick Watts, Jules Lund, Sophie Monk and Mel B – has dropped by 6.6. points, from a 10.4% audience share to 3.8%.
The Kyle & Jackie O Show saw Kiis FM’s breakfast ratings jump from 3.3% to 9.3%, where it is now tied for first place with ARN stablemates Jonesy and Amanda In The Morning on heritage station WSFM. Simon Baggs’ morning show on Kiis, which directly follows The Kyle & Jackie O Show, also increased by 3.9 points, from 4.9% to 8.8%.
Kyle and Jackie O’s defection has hit 2DayFM hard, with the SCA station’s overall audience share now sitting at just 4%, the lowest of all commercial FM stations in the Sydney area.
These were also the first survey results from GfK, who are now the official provider of radio ratings for Commercial Radio Australia, following a shift away from Nielsen.
