Hot 100 Fast Facts: Lorde, Niall Horan & Taylor Swift

P!NK continuesher streak at #1

It’s the singer’s fifth week at #1 on theTMN Hot 100 with ‘What About Us’. That equals the streaks ofThe Chainsmokers & Coldplay’s ‘Something Just Like This’ and James Arthur’s ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’. The track is now P!NK’s equal fourth-longest reigning single on the chart to date.

Lorde’s dynamite leap is just the start

Landing inside the top half of the chart is the Khalid, Post Malone and SZA-featured remix of Lorde’s ‘Homemade Dynamite’. It jumps 44 frames from #91 on its second week in the chart. It will be no surprise if the track continues its push to the top tier, after all, the NZ singer has already tasted success this year with ‘Green Light’ topping the chart for two weeks.

Taylor is seeing red

It’s red arrows for both of Taylor Swift’s current singles at radio. Nova has backed off on ‘Look What You Made Me Do’, explaining its one-spot fall to #11.

Swift’s second single ‘…Ready For It?’ is too losing popularity at radio, and manages to stay inside the Top 20 at #16 after peaking at #14 the previous week.

…While Niall Horan is going in one direction

Off the back of radio hit ‘Slow Hands’, follow up single ‘Too Much To Ask’ makes its way up to #15 after two weeks on the Hot 100. History tells us that it’s impossible to ignore a new single from One Direction members. Collectively, they’ve had five Top 3 singles between them and a joint 27 weeks occupying that tier.

Sam Smith is impossible to ignore

‘Too Good At Goodbyes’ is peaking at #3 this week and has managed to leapfrog most of the Top 10 in one go – that includes the likes of Dua Lipa’s ‘New Rules’ (#5), Demi Lovato’s ‘Sorry Not Sorry’ (#7) and Kesha’s ‘Praying’ (#9). Up from #12,it equals the peak held by ‘Stay With Me’ – arguably his mostpopular single – and Smith will certainly be looking to improve on that with ‘Goodbyes’.
