Drake breaks record set by Michael Jackson

Drake had picked up 13 nominations for the American Music Awards – breaking the record that Michael Jackson set in 1984 with 11, behind the groundbreaking Thriller album.

The Canadian rapper, through his Views album, is up for Artist of the Year, Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album, Favorite Rap Artist, Favorite Pop/Rock Artist, Favorite Rap Song, Favorite R&B Song, and six other awards.

Rihanna got seven nominations, Adele and Justin Bieber tied with five each. Beyonce and The Chainsmokers received four each. Up for three nominations were Bryson Tiller, Twenty One Pilots, Carrie Underwood, Fetty Wap and The Weeknd.

The AMAs are held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on November 20. Check out the full list of nominees below.
