BMG Signs Pacific Avenue (EXCLUSIVE)

Pacific Avenue signs with BMG ahead of the release of new music, TMN can exclusively reveal.

Forming 2017 in Kiama, a coastal town 90 minutes south of Sydney, Pacific Avenue cut a string of releases in 2018 and 2019, including their debut EP ‘Strawberry Skies,’ with Adrian Breakespear (Gang of Youths) on production duties. 

The indie-rockers made waves with their 2021 single ‘Easy Love’, which came in at No. 108 in the 2021 triple j Hottest 200 poll, landed triple j Unearthed Feature Artist status and earned solid support from Spotify, Apple Music and Triple M.

Along the way, the lads — Harry O’Brien (vocals/guitar), Ben Fryer (lead guitar), Jack Kay (bass guitar/vocals), Dom Littrich (drums/vocals) — have graced the main stages at Lost Paradise, This That and Yours & Owls, and performed alongside the like of Ruby Fields, Ocean Alley, The Wombats and Skeggs.

There’s more music on the way.

This Friday (April 29), the four-piece Aussie act drops ‘Give It Up For Yourself,’ their first release through BMG.

Pacific Avenue “are one of the most exciting bands we’ve come across in a long time,” comments Heath Johns, BMG managing director Australia & New Zealand.

“They are destined for great things and we are so happy to have BMG on the team.”

Launching in 2016, BMG Australia ramped up its recording aspirations in 2018 and now boasts a roster of Australian and New Zealand acts at BMG which includes Chet Faker, Angus & Julia Stone (ANZ), Daniel Johns, Julia Stone, Dope Lemon, Hockey Dad, Ladyhawke, Peking Duk (world ex. ANZ), CHAII, Dune Rats, Kat Edwards, Winston Surfshirt, ILUKA and Nyxen.

“Pacific Avenue have created the perfect blend of a fresh yet nostalgic sound with strong hooks and a compelling live show,” explains Jodie Feld, director of recorded A&R and artist experience.

“We’d been fans of them for some time, but once we heard the upcoming music there was no denying this band’s talent and musicianship. We’re incredibly excited to welcome Pacific Avenue to BMG and to build their local and international presence”.

Comments the quartet on their new label deal, “We’re very excited to announce that we’re signing with BMG. The label has such a cool line up of acts that we all really look up to, so it’s great to be a part of. It’s such a cool experience being able to work with such a creative and lovely team and we can’t wait to share everything we’ve been working on”.
