ARIA-nominated Australian pop artist and songwriter Charley has signed an exclusive global publishing deal with BMG.
Heath Johns, President of Australia, New Zealand & South-East Asia BMG, said the deal would give BMG an opportunity to further develop Charley's songwriting internationally.
“Charley is a creative, free spirit,” he said. “Her lyrics are raw and honest, and her delivery is refined and world-class. As an artist Charley has a strong vision for what she represents and as a songwriter her infinite potential is still largely untapped. We are so excited to get involved and elevate her songwriting opportunities across the globe.”
The Sydney-based singer-songwriter joins the company following the release of her debut album, The Chronicles of a Serial Idealist, which arrived in April and debuted at No. 2 on the ARIA Australian Albums Chart and inside the Top 25 of the ARIA Albums Chart.
Written across London, Sweden, Los Angeles and Sydney, the album features singles “Cherries”, “Serial Idealist” and “Bite My Tongue”, as well as “Man On The Moon”, which earned Charley an Emerging Global Songwriter Award in the 2025 Vanda & Young Global Songwriting Competition.
The win marked Charley's third honour in the competition, following consecutive AMPAL Emerging Songwriter Prizes for “Timebomb” in 2024 and “Worst Taste In Girls” in 2023.
Her TIMEBOMBS EP also earned her a nomination for the Michael Gudinski Breakthrough Artist Award at the 2023 ARIA Awards.

“I've been looking for the right publisher for my songs for a few years now,” Charley said. “I've known the team at BMG for a while and love the team and their energy. Signing with people who already know me and love my music just made sense.”
The signing follows Charley's biggest Australian headline tour to date, ‘The Tour of a Serial Idealist’, in support of her debut album. She has also performed sold-out headline shows around the country, and shared stages with FLETCHER, G Flip, Griff, Stephen Sanchez and MAY-A.
Her live credits include Spotify and VEVO showcases during SXSW, and she has also been named a Spotify EQUAL ANZ Artist, secured multiple brand partnerships and built a combined social media audience of over 300,000 followers.
Charley joins BMG's Australian and New Zealand publishing roster alongside Neil Finn, Young Franco, KLP, Jet, Keli Holiday, The Cat Empire, What So Not, Ladyhawke and Bag Raiders.
