The Weeknd has made touring history, with his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ stadium tour officially becoming the highest-grossing tour by a male artist of all time.
The Canadian superstar wrapped the four-year global trek in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday night, bringing an end to a record-breaking run that grossed more than US$1.3 billion and sold over nine million tickets.
Since launching in 2022, the tour has spanned 176 shows across 67 cities, 30 countries and five continents, including Australian stadium performances in 2024. The Australian leg marked The Weeknd's first visit Down Under in seven years and his first-ever stadium shows in the country.
He performed two nights at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium, before heading to Sydney's Accor Stadium for back-to-back shows, with support from Anna Lunoe, Mike Dean and Chxrry22.
The long-awaited shows followed a complicated lead-up for Australian fans, with the original tour postponed before a revised itinerary was announced in August 2024. Brisbane and New Zealand were ultimately left off the rescheduled run.
At the time, The Weeknd acknowledged the lengthy wait, saying: "I feel a strong pull to perform in Australia before moving on to the next chapter and want to make sure you all know I hadn't forgotten about you."
The performances were met with an enthusiastic reception, with Rolling Stone AU/NZ's review praising the elaborate stadium production and career-spanning setlist, which included hits such as "Blinding Lights" alongside material from his earlier mixtapes.

The tour's commercial momentum continued through its final year, with more than three million tickets sold and over US$500 million grossed in 2026 alone. In July, The Weeknd topped Billboard's monthly Boxscore chart, generating more than US$120 million and selling nearly 900,000 tickets in a single month.
The final Asian leg was also expanded from 11 to 17 shows due to demand, including three nights in Bangkok and four in Hong Kong. The latter saw The Weeknd become the highest-selling international male solo touring artist in Hong Kong, with nearly 200,000 tickets sold.
Elsewhere, the tour set several venue and market records, including seven performances at Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium, six nights at Toronto's Rogers Centre and six sold-out shows at Paris' Stade de France in 2026.
Beyond its commercial success, the tour has raised US$8.5 million for humanitarian initiatives through the XO Humanitarian Fund and Global Citizen, supporting global hunger relief, education and opportunities for women and girls. Of that total, US$3 million was raised in 2026 for the United Nations World Food Programme and Global Citizen.
The Weeknd also celebrated the tour's final stretch with the release of "Hong Kong", a collaboration with Cantopop star Faye Wong, last month. The track debuted live during his Hong Kong stadium residency and has since broken several streaming records across Chinese platforms NetEase Cloud Music and QQ Music.
