Amrap Chart Wrap

The launch of our new Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts gives a unique insight into what’s gaining traction on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks most ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through ‘Amrap’s AirIt’ music distribution service and this week the charts deliver a heady mix of emerging artists, on-trend acts and Australian music stalwarts.

Euro-tinged electronica track Go Slow by Black Cab debuted at #1 on the Amrap Metro Charts. They’ve been flat out in their hometown for Melbourne Music Week including a very special live radio performance on Triple R’s Monday drive show Mapsfrom the Queen Victoria Markets.

North East Arnhem Land band East Journey took the #1 slot of the Amrap Regional Charts with Song of Arnhem Land Remixed. Community radio stations in each State and Territory picked up the track in the last seven days

Psychedelic fuzz-sters King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard have made the jump from inner city community radio darlings to regional radio with Hot Water making #8 on the Amrap Regional Charts.

The Basics enjoyed the best of both worlds with their latest single The Lucky Country making #3 on the Metro Charts and #10 on the Regional Charts. Not surprising as The Basics – Wally ’Gotye’ De Backer, Kris Schroder and Tim Heath – have been long loved across community radio. The film clip is also gaining traction through Amrap Pages on community radio websites including Hobart’s Edge Radio.

Fremantle’s San Cisco has had loads of orders from Amrap’s AirIt in recent weeks and Run is currently at #2 on the Regional Chart.Unsigned hip hop artist B Wise has debuted at #4 on the Metro Charts with Like You and was added to rotation on hometown station FBi Radio with DJ selected spins on their new digital radio station FBi Click. Community radio Amrap Ambassador Dan Sultan continues his stellar year with Dirty Ground debuting at #6 on the Metro Charts with the live video gaining traction through Amrap Pages on community radio websites including 4ZZZ.

Community radio continues to embrace The Black Sorrows with their latest single Devil Came Knocking in at #6 on the Metro Charts.
