ABC, Tamworth Country Music Festival, strike new broadcast partnership

The Australian Broadcasting Corporation and Tamworth Country Music Festival have struck a new broadcast partnership that covers the festival and the Golden Guitars awards.

The partnership covers ABC Landline’s Facebook Livestream of the Golden Guitar Awards including red-carpet arrivals.

There’ll be awards highlights on ABC TV and ABC iview; daily radio broadcasts live from the heart of the festival; videos collections; and a live broadcast of popular Australia All Over and Saturday Night Country programs.

Barry Harley, Manager of Country Music, Tamworth Regional Council said: “We greatly appreciate the ABC for their commitment to the Tamworth Country Music Festival, the Golden Guitar Awards, and the entire country music community.

“As Australia’s leading source of information and entertainment, we are thankful to have such a cooperative relationship with the ABC, and we look forward to working together to show the rest of Australia, and the world, the wide array of incredible country music talent we have on offer in Tamworth each January.”

Fiona Reynolds, Director of ABC Regional added: “The ABC has always enjoyed its special relationship with the Festival and the Awards going back many years.

“This partnership takes the relationship to an exciting new level, enabling the Festival and ABC to reach country music lovers across all our platforms in all corners of Australia and internationally.”

The festival officially kicked off last Friday although some campers had arrived in early January. It ends on Sunday, January 28.

The 46th Golden Guitars are on Saturday, January 27 at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment and Conference Centre.
