Uncharted: Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa, The Chainsmokers, Drake

Some top-shelf dance and rap songs are hitting Australian airwaves this week and TMN has gone ahead and chosen the cream of the crop.

Calvin Harris & Dua Lipa – ‘One Kiss’ (SME)

Another northern hemisphere summertime anthem from Calvin Harris comes right on cue as the DJ teams up with UK starlet Dua Lipa to produce TMN’s top single of the week.

‘One Kiss’ follows a string of high-powered collabs for Harris with the likes of Frank Ocean, Katy Perry and Future, and has the potential to rival these past releases at radio. Both Harris and Lipa need no introduction at commercial with ten Top 3 singles between them.

The Chainsmokers – ‘Everybody Hates Me’ (SME)

Grammy Award-winning act The Chainsmokers are sending their next offering to commercial radio. Last year’s #1 Hot 100 single ‘Something Just Like This’ with Coldplay confirmed the boys’ status at radio after ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ (#14) ‘Paris’ (#10) and ‘Closer’ (#1) were some of the biggest radio hits of 2017.

With a distinct commercial flavour to it, ‘Everybody Hates Me’ should be up the top of list of additions for MDs over the coming week.

Drake – ‘Nice For What’ (UMA)

Drake is back at it again with brand new single ‘Nice For What’. The song samples ‘Ex Factor’, one of the most popular tracks from 1999’s The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.

The rapper has been busy in 2018 with the release of a mixtape and an upcoming studio album in the works. Current radio single ‘God’s Plan’ peaked at #16 on the Hot 100 at the start of march and is proving to be a firm fixture on the chart.
