Triple J pick of the week: Bombay Bicycle Club

BOMBAY BICYCLE CLUB
Luna

I’ve always had a soft spot for London’s Bombay Bicycle Club; the quartet make quirky, catchy and experimental indie which never fails to ear-worm its way into my head.

The band recently told the BBC that their upcoming fourth album So Long, See You Tomorrow is their most experimental yet – self-produced in their “humble little studio”, they decided to take their time writing and recording this one, with two-and-a-half years in between their last record A Different Kind Of Fix.

We heard their lead single, Carry Me, late last year: a dark, stomping electro-tinged number which builds into a relentless mantra towards the end.

Single #2, Luna, is a more straight up affair, but definitely keeps an edge to it, with bright harmonies and a driving, transcending chorus which leaves you wanting more – it’s also coupled with the below great film clip.

So Long, See You Tomorrow is out February 7
