These New South Whales prep season two on Comedy Central

These New South Whales have teamed with Comedy Central Australia and New Zealand for the broadcast of season two of their punkumentary.

The eight-part series begins to screen from May 9 on Comedy Central ANZ networks Fetch TV and Sky NZ and Comedy Central’s official website.

The show’s creators, writers and producers Todd Andrew, Jamie Timony and Ben Timony commented “We are over the moon, back to earth and then back over the moon again to be partnering with Comedy Central.

“If you want the best meat you go to the best butcher, know what I mean? We couldn’t think of a better home for our baby boo-boo.”

Simon Bates, head of Comedy Central ANZ observed, “These New South Whales is hilarious and the partnership emphasises the commitment Comedy Central Australia has to home grown comedians…or are they musicians?”

The first season followed the four delusional upstarts from Newcastle trying to break into Sydney’s Inner West music scene and featured cameos from the likes of DMA’s, CHVRCHES and Metz.

In Season 2, armed with a portly, Elvis impersonating band manager and a luxury double decker tour bus, These New South Whales set off on tour.

There’ll be cameos from Roger O’Donnell (The Cure), Jimmy Barnes, Daniel Johns, Phoebe Tonkin (Vampire Diaries, The Originals), Jeffrey Walker (Round The Twist), Ryan Shelton (Hamish and Andy’s Gap Year), Dune Rats, Linda Marigliano (triple j) and Aaron Chen (Aaron Chen Tonight).

The series is executive produced by O’Donnell, Walker and Laura Waters of Summer Heights High and Ja’mie: Private School Girl fame.

O’Donnell shares, “I love these guys, I love what they do and how they do it, with genuine love and affection for probably the most shit business you can imagine, Rock and Roll.

“When they asked me to be an executive producer on the show I was totally blown away and have loved every minute of seeing them bring this thing to fruition.

“Comedy genius (they paid me to say that).”

Waters adds, “Rarely have I seen a group so committed to what they’re doing while also having so much fun.

“People will fall in love with TNSW!”
