Singers Jai Waetford and Alli Simpson are confirmed as hosts of the new original YouTube series The ShareSpace.

The initiative of Sony Music Entertainment Australia and ZigZagTV, it launches next month in a ground-breaking way to find and globally launch new musical talent.

Simpson returns from her home base in Los Angeles for the show, after the 19-year old first moved from the Gold Coast to L.A six years ago with her family to further the career of her elder brother Cody Simpson.

She is now a singer, actress and model, and presents a weekly show on Disney Radio where she has interviewed the likes of Gwen Stefani, Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.

She and Cody have been lately writing songs together for their own solo careers.

“I am beyond excited to be hosting the new music collab project The ShareSpace,” Simpson says.

“It will great to see how The Talent evolve through collaboration and creativity over the 30 days. Exciting times ahead!”

He says of his new role, “As soon as I heard about The ShareSpace I was keen to get involved!

“It’s awesome to be a part of such an exciting new series that encourages and develops new Australian talent.

“I know Ali and I will have a blast as The Hosts!”

The ShareSpace will follow eight individuals, aka “The Talent” to over 30 days write and create new solo and collaborative music which will be shared globally on multiple channels.

The whole process will be covered in daily experiences posted on The ShareSpace YouTube channel and TheShareSpace.com.

Further coverage will occur in real-time on The ShareSpace and talent social channels.

In a global first The ShareSpace will collate data from the published music content to determine which of the talent has had the best engagement each week.

At the end of the 30 days the talent deemed the most engaging will receive a global writing and collaboration experience and be signed to Sony Music Entertainment.
