The Rolling Stones grossed a total of US$45.3 million (Australian $37.5 million) on the Australian and New Zealand leg of their 14 On Fire tour.

They drew a total of 174,025 fans over seven shows, according to figures supplied by global promoters Concerts West/AEG Live to Billboard magazine.

The Australian and New Zealand run was through Frontier Touring.

Billboard’s regular tally of the world’s top tours, Boxscore, had earlier reported that the first three Australian shows grossed $23.6 million (A$19.5 million) and saw them play to 92,095 fans featuring guests as former guitarist Mick Taylor and a choir from each city for You Can’t Always Get What You Want.

These three covered the kick off at Adelaide Oval on October 25 which drew a capacity 52,910 and turned over $8.9 million (A$7.3 million). The match-fit band then moved to a two-night stay at Perth Arena which yielded a gross of $9.8 million (A$8.1 million) and which made them the highest earning act of 2014 at the venue, which has also hosted Bruce Springsteen, Katy Perry, Robbie Williams, Michael Buble and Justin Timberlake.

Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on November 5 drew 12,262 and shifted ticket sales of $4.8 million (A$3.9 million). It was the venue’s highest gross for a single performance this year.

Last night, Billboard further revealed that the remaining four shows in Australasia grossed $21.7 million (A$17.9 million) and drew 81,930. These dates began from November 12 at Allphones Arena in Sydney and included Hope Estate Winery in their first ever show in the Hunter Valley, Brisbane Entertainment Centre and the finale at Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland where 37,000 stood in the drizzle.

Altogether, the 14 On Fire shows this year made over $165.1 million (A$136.7 million) from 25 sold out shows in Europe, Asia and Oceania. It launched in Abu Dhabi on February 21 and finished in New Zealand on November 22 and played to a total of 862,900. The band’s three nights at Tokyo Dome on February 26, March 4 and 6 did big business of $27.9 million (A$23.1 million) from 147,493 sold tickets.

Not only were the Tokyo shows the biggest gross of the entire tour but the highest-grossing concert stand in 2014 by any touring artist, Billboard noted.
