Remi leads Rolling Stone Awards nominations

Melbourne MC Remi leads the nominations for the 6th Rolling Stone Australia Awards, with four mentions.

He’s up for Album of the Year, Best New Talent, Best Independent Release and Music Video of the Year.

Notching up three nominations each were The Preatures, King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard and The Delta Riggs.

Up for two are Dan Sultan, Shihad, The Smith Street Band and C.W. Stoneking.

The awards this year move to Fox Studios in Sydney and will be held on Wednesday February 25. Hip hop performer Ecca Vandal, who is up for Music Video of the Year, is the first announced to perform.

Nine awards will be handed out, six voted for by the magazine’s critics. Readers vote for the Single of the Year winner through its website.
