One Direction, 5SOS managers set up publishing company

Modest Management, the company behind One Direction and Sydney’s 5 Seconds of Summer, has set up a publishing company with former Nettwerk Music Group MD Blair McDonald.

Dubbed AMLOR Music Publishing, the company is set up by Modest!’s founders Richard Griffiths and Harry Magee, McDonald (who will serve as its Managing Director) and manager Will Blomfield, andwill be based in Los Angeles and Modest’s offices in London.

“Over the years we’ve had countless offers to start a publishing business alongside our other businesses, but never felt we had right team to add value,” Griffiths said. “Blair brings that last important piece of the puzzle.”

AMLOR will operate independent of Modest, and created to provide focused creative services and support for songwriters, producers and artists through publishing and neighboring rights agreements.

McDonald, who left as Nettwerk UK/Europe’s Managing Director in April, emphasised what AMLOR wants to offer “the widest range of creative services to our roster—from working with writers and producers to access the best possible projects, providing financial support to help developing artists take the first steps on the road, pursuing brand partnerships, creative guidance, access to industry expertise, and everything in-between.”

Modest also manages Little Mix and British singer, songwriter and producer MNEK.
