Ngaiire signs exclusive global publishing deal with Wise Music Australia

Ngaiire signs exclusive global publishing deal with Wise Music Australia

Wise Music Australia has announced an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with revered R&B act Ngaiire.

The new deal arrives in time for Ngaiire’s latest album 3, which drops today via Dot Dash Recordings/Remote Control Records in Australia and New Zealand and Majestic Casual for the rest of the world.

Rising to prominence as a contestant on the second season of Australian Idol in 2004, Ngaiire has previously released two full-length albums, with her latest effort being recorded over the course of three years with collaborator Jack Grace.

The Australia-based, Papua New Guinea-born artist joins the likes of Donny Benet, William Barton, Josh Pyke and Harts on the Wise Music Australia roster.

Ngaiire said she was ecstatic to sign with Wise for her first publishing deal and expressed her admiration towards the artists on the group’s international roster.

“If you had told me years ago that I’d be sharing the same publisher as Sufjan Stevens, Anoushka Shankar, Bryce Dessner or even freakin’ Philip Glass I’d tell you to leave the room and to not ever speak to me of such things ever again,” Ngaiire said.

“As my first publishing home I feel incredibly humbled that Wise would even consider me worthy enough to stand beside such incredible composers. This is the start of an exciting new turn in my journey as both a composer and a songwriter and I’m so happy it’s with a team who really get it.”

Wise Music Australia’s A&R manager, Larry Heath, welcomed Ngaiire to the group’s Australian roster, celebrating her talent as a songwriter and performer alike.

“It’s truly an honour to sign, and a privilege to work with an artist of this calibre,” Heath remarked.

“Ngaiire is a prolific creative in every sense of the word, someone who pushes boundaries in every field she explores – and I feel we haven’t even begun to witness the peak of her output. I can’t wait to see where she goes from here – for 3 and everything that will come in her future.”
