Musical Chairs: Resonate directors launch consultancy division; Agency Group promotes Rob Zifarelli; New chairman for SCM; New Saturday breakfast team for Nova

Resonate’s Fowler, Morris, launch consultancy division

Two of the directors of radio operators Resonate Group (which owns stations in Hawaii and Queensland), Keith Fowler and Rex Morris set up a new radio consultancy offshoot Resonate Project Group (RPG). They are using their collective career experiences abroad, especially in Asia, to provide a point of difference for clients in the Asian, Middle Eastern and Pacific radio markets. The Agency Group promotes Rob Zifarelli to SVP

Rob Zifarelli (pictured), who does international bookings for a number of Australian acts, is promoted by The Agency Group’s Canadian operations to Senior Vice President. He represents Vance Joy, The Jezabels, Boy & Bear, The Paper Kites, Airbourne and Washington, booking them from his base in Canada. He also handles acts from South America, Japan and Southeast Asia.

New chairman for SCM

Southern Cross Media’s Chairman Max Moore-Wilton, who last year flagged his intention to retire this year, is tipped to leave this month as a successor is close to being finalized.

New Saturday breakfast team for Nova Brisbane

Nova Brisbane 106.9’s new Saturday breakfast show, which launched on the weekend, features AFL footballer Jonathan Brown, news reader Ange Anderson and daytime announcer Gawndy. The team was summer replacement for the Ash, Kip & Luttsy breakfast show.

Dom O’Connor joins Sydney’s World Bar team

Dom O’Connor, musician and former host of Music NSW’s segment on FBi Radio, joined Sydney live music venue World Bar as Live Music Manager. The 18-year old programmed for Oxford Arts Factory and Laneway Festival.

Booking, management, changes at Indi Bar

Scarborough, WA live music venue The Indi Bar confirmed that René de Vries, its production manager and in house sound engineer for the last six years, has also taken over as booking agent from Robert Grove. Andrew Grove returns as hotel manager.

New role for BBC Worldwide’s Linda Deubel

Linda Deubel, Head of Marketing, Entertainment Brands, at BBC Worldwide Australia and NZ, now moves to the role of Director of Brands and Marketing. She replaces Melissa Madden, who is next month relocating to London as SVP Creative, Category and Content Marketing for BBC Worldwide.

New publicist at 123 Agency

Ash Bartlett has taken over as publicist at Melbourne’s 123 Agency, after Mads O'Gorman’s departure.

Two for Mediaworks’ news/entertainment show

New Zealand’s Mediaworks tapped journalist and TV3 presenter Samantha Hayes and entertainment and technology David Farrier to co-host its new late night news and entertainment show on TV3.

New EP for Hour of Power program

US Christian program Hour of Power, which is broadcast in Australia, has brought in well known Christian media programmer Phil Cooke as Executive Producer alongside Bobby Schuller to widen its global demographic appeal.
