Production team MSquared re-signed to Mushroom Music Publishing

Production team MSquared re-signed to Mushroom Music Publishing for the world with plans to spend more time abroad next year.

The duo, aka Michael DeLorenzis and Michael Paynter, formed in early 2011, covered pure and indie pop, country, hip hop and EDM and racked up over 200 million streams on Spotify alone.

Clients included Aloe Blacc, Tkay Maidza, Tina Arena, Shungduzo, Generik, Charlie Collins, Casey Barnes, James Johnston, Sycco, Icehouse and Jacob Lee. 

DeLorenzis said the growth of demand for their work was “in no small part, thanks to the amazing work of the Mushroom team.”

Paynter added: “2023 feels like the beginning of a brave new chapter for us, and we know that with the Mushroom team by our side, the stage is set for more success.”

Pointed out Erol Yurdagul, Mushroom Music’s head of A&R and creative, “You would be hard pressed to find two more talented and hardworking writer/producers than MSqaured.” 

Tia Gostelow @ ONErpm

Brisbane-based singer/songwriter Tia Gostelow inked a worldwide distribution & strategic marketing partnership with ONErpm Australia for her forthcoming releases. 

With her third album just recorded, the act said, “It really feels like their hands on/forward thinking approach is the right fit for our team and it makes me really excited for what’s to come.”

ONErpm describes its global approach as having a heavy emphasis on new markets in North and South America, Europe and Asia via creative marketing tactics, platform optimisation, and a deep understanding of the digital music marketplace.

Its director of business development AUNZ & Southeast Asia, Rick Butterworth, said, “It’s no secret Tia Gostelow is one of Australia’s finest songwriters and her first two albums have left an indelible mark on music fans around the world.

Gostelow’s new single “Say It To My Face” comes out on December 1.

Luke and Sassy Scott @ Mushroom Management

Melbourne brothers Luke and “Sassy” Scott O’Halloran are the latest to join Mushroom Management.

Their fans include Selena Gomez and Rita Ora, among 2.5 million followers.

“It’s been a pure joy and privilege to work with the boys over the past year and I’m super excited to officially announce their signing to Mushroom Group,” stated talent & relationship manager Kirsty Kassabis.

The duo were nominated for this year’s Digital Creator of the Year at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTAs), and TikTok Australia/New Zealand’s Creator of the Year at the 2022 For You Fest, TikTok’s new annual content awards hosted in Sydney.

In recent times, they have worked with the likes of Jetstar, Swisse and Platypus.

Bonka @ Central Station

Brisbane EDM duo and radio hosts Bonka aka Lachlan Naughton and Connor O’Neill pulled in at Central Station with new single “I Like It”.

Its thumping bass line and sampled disco stabs is a dedication to French Electro pioneers.

Through their past record labels as Mixmash, Revealed, Ministry of Sound and Rave Culture, the duo ticked over 10 million stream.

Singles “Focus” and “Chase” topped the ARIA Club Chart, with “Chase” the most-played dance records on American radio. 

Alt. @ Resist & SharpTone

Adelaide band Alt. signed with Resist Records for Australia, and SharpTone Records for the rest of the world, releasing a single “Wraith”.

Singer Dan Richards said of Resist head Graham Nixon, “His passion, knowledge and work ethic is amazing and really inspires us to give the band everything we have.”
