Lazertits and Jordan Merrick Debut At The Top Of The Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week Lazertits debuts at #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Jordan Merrick appearing at #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Lazertits enter the Amrap Metro Chart at #1 with their pop-punk tune ‘Lil’ Sister’. Amy from Lazertits, alongside Amy from the band Swim Team, joined Fee-B Squared from Maps on Triple R in Melbourne to discuss their upcoming split 7”. They spoke of the similarities and differences between the songs each respective band creates, and also of the supportive musical community they are all associated with. The down-tempo, swinging folk-blues track has earned community radio airplay from Star FM in TAS, Radio Mama and RTRFM in WA, 2EAR FM and NimFM in NSW, Fraser Coast FM and Noosa FM in QLD, Radio Adelaide, Radio Alexandrina and 5 Triple Z in SA, as well as 3WAY FM, Phoenix FM, 98.5 Apple FM, UGFM – Radio Murrindindi, 96.5 Inner FM, 88.6 Plenty Valley FM, 3CR, 99.1 Smart FM, and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC.

Two Steps on the Water have moved into #2 in the Amrap Metro Charts with ‘Hold Me’. Watch the emotive clip for ‘Hold Me’ as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 4ZZZ in QLD, 107.3 HFM in WA, FBi Radio in NSW, 3MDR and Triple R in VIC. Sword Songs, the second album from the Melbourne band, was PBS FM’s Feature Album and also SYN’s Aussie Album of the Week. ‘Hold Me’, which features a baritone saxophone and a flowing string section, was included in Triple R’s Soundscapes, with additional airplay from 5 Triple Z in SA, Edge Radio in TAS, 107.3 HFM in WA, 2SER, 2SEA and 2SWR in NSW, OCR FM and 3MGB in VIC as well as Radio 4EB, 4NAG and Fraser Coast FM in QLD.

The easy-listening, country track has amassed radio airplay from Radio Mama and Voice of the Avon in WA, Fraser Coast FM and TEN FM in QLD, Coast FM, 5 Triple Z and Umeewarra Media in SA, Yass FM, Tank FM, 2AIR FM, 2NVR FM, STA FM, Coonamble Community Radio and 2MIA in NSW, as well as Seymour FM, 3WBC, 979fm, 3WAY FM, Gippsland FM, 88.6 Plenty Valley FM, 3RPC, 3RPP, and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC.

Swim Team have made their Amrap Metro Chart debut with the track ‘Positively Hopeless’ charting at #3. Krystal from Swim Team, joined by Krystal from Lazertits, had a chat on Maps on Triple R, where they discussed their upcoming joint project, which is a split 7” featuring both the Melbourne based bands. The folk-country tune has received spins from Umeewarra Media and 5 Triple Z in SA, Noosa FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Radio Mama, Voice of the Avon and Albany Community Radio in WA, 2CHR, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM, 2SEA, Northside Radio and 2AIR FM in NSW, as well as UGFM – Radio Murrindindi, 96.5 Inner FM, 88.6 Plenty Valley FM, 98.5 Apple FM, 3NRG, 3WAY FM and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC.

Making her first appearance in the Amrap Metro Chart at #4, with the track ‘Be Friends’, is Alice Ivy. Alice Ivy joined The Hoist on SYN in Melbourne, to chat about the origin of her moniker, juggling work whilst being a touring musician, how she broke her leg and also briefly touched on when her debut album may be out. The crunchy, synth heavy electronic track was included in SYN’s Sweet 16 as well as FBi Radio’s New Music List, with further plays from 2EAR FM in NSW, 3HOT in VIC, 4UFM in WA as well as WOW FM and 5BBB in SA.

Tania Kernaghan has taken out #4 during her second appearance in the Amrap Regional Chart with the song ‘Onto Something’. Jed Rowe has entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #5 with his latest single ‘See No Evil’. Charting in the Amrap Regional Chart for the first time is Mia Dyson, with the track ‘Gambling’ appearing at #6. The blues-roots single has received airplay from Star FM in TAS, Coast FM, Noosa FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Radio Alexandrina, 5 Triple Z, and Fleurieu FM in SA, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM, Northside Radio and Radio Norfolk in NSW, as well as 979fm, 3CR, 3WAY FM, 99/1 Smart FM, UGFM – Radio Murrindindi, 3MDR, and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC.
