Kobalt celebrates Beck’s Grammy wins

PRESS RELEASE:

Kobalt’s clients took home 14 wins at the 57th GRAMMY Awards on Sunday night.

Beck’s Morning Phase won three GRAMMY awards, including the prestigious Album of the Year award, Best Rock Album and Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical. Throughout his career, Beck has won a total of five GRAMMY awards, from 16 different nominations.

Fellow Kobalt Music Publishing (KMP) and Kobalt Neighboring Rights (KNR) client, Max Martin, the songwriting force behind the world's biggest hits of the past two decades, was named Producer of the Year, Non-Classical. Max is responsible for 19 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s to date, the third highest by an individual, behind only Paul McCartney and John Lennon. Max’s recent hits include “Bang Bang” (Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj), “Problem” (Ariana Grande ft. Iggy Azalea), “Shake It Off” (Taylor Swift) and “Unconditionally” (Katy Perry).

KNR client Sam Smith scooped up four awards during the evening, including Best New Artist, with roster mate Jess Glynne winning Best Dance Recording. Meanwhile, KMP signing Chick Corea won two GRAMMY awards, adding to his previous 20 GRAMMY wins, for both Best Improvised Jazz Solo and Best Jazz Instrumental Album.

Other KMP clients, including Tiësto and Lecrae Moore also contributed to many of this year’s winning tracks and albums.

“We couldn’t be prouder of our songwriting and neighbouring rights family,” said Willard Ahdritz, Kobalt’s founder and CEO.“We aregrateful to have so many of the world’s greatest talents working with us.
