British post Dubstep phenomenon James Blake’s Overgrown album impacted earlier this year and throughout the bass music community it was one of the most highly anticipated albums of the year (I own it on 3 different formats, fan-boy much?). He was all over Alternative and community stations with tracks like Digital Lion and Overgrown being heralded as the sound of the new guard of the underground.

He’s set to return this week with the new single Life Round Here now reinvigorated thanks to a few cheeky verses from Chance The Rapper. It’s a match made in heaven, Chance’s lyrical prowess over Blake’s unusually smooth vocals and chaotically beautiful instrumental style of IDM (Intelligent Dance Music for those not in with the phrases). The track already a triumph is now destined for attention from the likes of Triple J, FBI and other such forward thinking stations.
