Jack Johnson bans single-use plastic water bottles at Aussie shows

On this month’s All the Light Above It Too Summer Tour, Jack Johnson has banned single-use plastic water bottles

Curbing the use of single-use plastic has been at the forefront of Jack Johnson’s work for over a decade.

Currently on tour across Australia Jack and his crew, alongside @REVERB and @GreenMusicAustralia, have worked with all the venues to ensure NO single-use plastic water bottles will be sold at any of the shows.

Since 2005, Johnson’s crew has implemented a plastic free backstage, and the success of banning single-use plastic water bottles at these shows is another step toward total Plastic waste free Green Touring.

Fans are also encouraged to bring their own empty reusable water bottle (no glass) to refill for free at water stations hosted by @WeRefill, or purchase a Jack Johnson branded reusable pint, bottle or thermos at the show to reduce plastic waste.

Additional greening actions for Johnson’s 2017 Summer Tour include sourcing local, organic food as part of a “farm to stage” program, producing upcycled and eco-friendly merchandise, expanding waste reduction, composting and recycling, offering bike valets and alternative transportation incentives, as well as offsetting all remaining CO2 emissions.

Johnson and his production team will continue to pave the way in green touring practices with extensive sustainability programs at every show.
