Grammys broadcast on Foxtel, Katy Perry latest to perform

The Grammys, to be held in Los Angeles this Sunday night LA time, will be broadcast in Australia over three and a half hours by Foxtel.

Katy Perry has joined a strong performers’ cast, set to perform her suicide ballad By The Grace Of God with dancers and spectacular visuals, according to Billboard.

Madonna, AC/DC, John Legend, Common, Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Usher, Eric Church and Ariana Grande are taking to the stage and Paul McCartney, Kanye West and Rihanna perform collaborationFourFiveSeconds. LL Cool J returns as host for the fourth consecutive year.

Recently added to the lineup were nominees Sia, Beck, Mary J. Blige and Juanes.

Beck will duet with Chris Martin, Mary J. Blige with Sam Smith and Dwight Yoakam with Brandy Clark. In a Grammy Moment, Herbie Hancock, John Mayer and Questlove team with Ed Sheeran. Sheeran also collaborates onstage with Jeff Lynne’s reunited ELO. Other onstage pairings include Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga, Hozier & Annie Lennox, Jessie J & Tom Jones, and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine with singer/songwriter Gwen Stefani.

A number of Australians could be winners on the night. Sia is up for four categories. Iggy Azalea is a multi-nominated contender including for Best New Artist. Melbourne producer M Phazes gets a Grammy nod due to his work on Eminem’s The Marshall Mathers LP2.

Winds of Samsara, an album made by Melbourne-based Wouter Kellerman with Indian/South African duo Ricky Kej, is nominated in the New Age category. Included on the album is the song Grace, by Sydney-based pianist and composer Fiona Joy Hawkins.
