Exclusive: SUM Management signs singer/producer Woodes

Jesse Flavell’s Sydney-based SUM Management has signed singer, composer, producer and model Woodes. The 22-year-old Melbourne-based act joins a roster including Katie Noonan, KLP and Playwrite.

Woodes releases new single Muddy next week, pulled off of a collaborative EP with Melbourne EDM producer Elkkle.

Flavell, former curator of the Good Vibrations festival, told TMN, “Woodes is an exceptional young artist I've been watching develop over the last 12 months or so. As a composer/producer/vocalist she carries strong visual influences throughout her work and has a complete and focussed artistic vision that I'm excited to support and nurture.

“It's been great to see such strong interest both locally and internationally already considering that the project hasn't even been launched yet, and I know this is only going to continue once we get some music out there. The Woodes x Elkkle EP is a great introduction point and there are already a number of other exciting projects in the works.”

Woodes was born Elle Graham in Townsville, where she recorded some material before a spontaneous decision to move to Melbourne. She released the single Decisions with Townsville-born Gold Coast-based producer Atticus Beats. It received global attention and is attracting strong label interest in the US, says SUM.
