Crooked Colours’ Phil Slabber signs to etcetc with new project ZOLLY

Having already helped establish Crooked Colours as one of Australia’s best electronic acts, frontman Phil Slabber has now launched his own solo project ZOLLY.

In announcing the new project, Slabber also revealed that ZOLLY’s music will be released through Aussie label etcetc.

The new project is being pitched as a blend of ‘Zhu meets Channel Tres’, and ZOLLY’s first single ‘Ballin’ is also out today (Friday, February 28).

“Phil Slabber – what an amazing dude. We’re honoured to be working with Phil and Ben Robinson (Artist Cartel) launching Phil’s solo project, ZOLLY. What a big year ahead,” etcetc general manager Aden Mullens tells TMN of the signing.

As well as being the frontman for Crooked Colours, Slabber’s other musical exploits have seen him lend vocals to Benson’s ‘Hold Out’ and Cassian’s ‘Magical’.

Now the Africa-raised Australia-based artist will release a solo debut EP as ZOLLY later in 2020 through etcetc.

“Happy to finally be putting out my solo project, ZOLLY,” he tells TMN.

“I’ve been eager to work with the etcetc team, who exhibit a lot of passion and experience breaking and supporting electronic artists worldwide.”

ZOLLY’s debut track ‘Ballin’ debuted on triple j on Thursday night, and is out now:
