Charts & Music Manager

This week the Shazam 100 sees the same Top 3 as last week with Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud holding #1 for its fourth week. Klingande’s Jubel isat #2 and Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s Prayer In C sits at #3. The first bit of movement is seen at #4 as Marlon Roudette’s When The Beat Drops Out reaches a new peak, up from last week’s #7. Avicii’s The Days shoots up the chart from #42 to #10 following an incredibly strong week of airplay and has the potential to move into the Top 5 come next week’s chart. At #12, a new debut is seen from Nico & Vinz’s In Your Arms and at #27 and #28 from The Magician ft. Years & Years Sunlight and Olly Murs’ Wrapped Up respectively. The Spotify 20 bears witness to a new #1, Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off, which knocks Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame down to #2, ending its three-week spree at #1. Ed Sheeran’s thinking Out Loud moves up to #3, earning a new peak after last week’s #11 debut. Outside the Top 10 Sam Smith has two tracks placing next to each other with Stay With Me at #11 and I’m Not The Only One at #12 – both look to be on the decline however and may even fall out of the Top 15 come next week. Vance Joy’s Riptide moves up to #13 from last week’s #15, no doubt benefiting from the recent buzz around Taylor Swift’s cover of the song. Nico & Vinz’s Am I Wrong also received a boost in plays this week, up to #14 from #18 which is no doubt thanks to the release of their album Black Star Elephant. The ARIA Streaming chart also sees Swift’s Shake It Off move up to the top spot, this time up from last week’s #4. Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud climbs to #4 from last week’s #19 and is poised to move into the Top 3 come Saturday’s chart. Echosmith’s Cool Kids enjoys a new peak at #7 up from last week’s #10 and could very well climb higher as some of the other tracks that have run their course start their slow decline out of the chart. At #36 Sheppard’s Geronimo has re-entered the chart following the Brisbane groups performance on The Ellen Show. A new debut just manages to scrape in at #39 in the form of Banks’ Beggin’ For Thread, which has definitely been helped along by the fact that Banks’ new album is this week’s feature album on triple j.
