Digital Chart Wrap: Ed Sheeran holds tight

Charts & Music Manager

This week sees Ed Sheeran’s Thinking Out Loud holds #1 for its second week on the Shazam 100 while Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s Prayer In C remains at #2 for another week. Klingande’s Jubel moves up an additional place to #3 from last week’s #4. At #6 is Marlon Roudette’s When The Beat Drops Out, which has moved up to #6 from last week’s #27, a new peak for the track and is no doubt a result of all the airplay it has received over the past two weeks. Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame remains at #1 on the Spotify 20 this week but a new possible contender has debuted in the form of Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off. The ARIA #1 has definitely had its share of chart success in both the airplay and sales charts. Echosmith’s Cool Kids has moved up to #11 from last week’s #18, a new peak for the hit and all on its second week in the chart. Sam Smith’s I’m Not The Only One finally breaks into the Spotify chart this week, landing at #16, and will no doubt climb in the weeks to come. George Ezra’s Budapest remains at #20 and while falling out of the 20 is a definite threat, it might see a boost in steams next week given his recent Australian tour announcement. The Top 4 of the ARIA Streaming chart remains the same this week with Calvin Harris & John Newman’s Blame sitting at #1, Meghan Trainor’s All About That Bass at #2, Lilly Wood & Robin Schulz’s Prayer In C at #3 and Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj’s Bang Bang at #4. #5 sees a new debut however, again, it’s Taylor Swift’s Shake It Off. Echosmith’s Cool Kids is also enjoying success on this chart after breaking into the Top 20, it’s at #15 from last week’s #25. Maroon 5’s Animals enters the chart at #36 and might slowly climb the Top 40 in coming weeks. For the rundown in full, subscribe to the charts.
