Delta Goodrem, Jimmy Barnes & more loan their pets for Support Act e-cards

Australian music industry charity Support Act has enlisted five of Australia’s most beloved artists for its annual end of year fundraising appeal.

Jimmy Barnes, Missy Higgins, Delta Goodrem, Amanda Brown and Josh Pyke feature on a series of five e-cards with their adorable pets for the appeal.

The e-cards, which can be edited to feature your own personal greeting, are available to everyone who donates through Support Act’s website during December.

Support Act is the only charity in Australia helping music professionals facing illness, injury or some other crisis preventing them from working.

The Christmas period can be especially tough for artists and music workers in crisis. Those donating can help Support Act put food on the table and gifts under the tree. This year Support Act is sending every service user a Woolworths essentials gift card.

Help is offered in confidence and without judgement to musicians, roadies, songwriters, engineers and any other person who has worked professionally in music for five years or more. Support Act also contributes to the cost of funerals for people who die in poverty.

Support Act’s Chief Executive Joanna Cave toldTMN:

“We are incredibly grateful to these five wonderful musicians, as well as their beautiful pets, for supporting our end of year campaign,” she said. “They know that there simply isn’t a safety net for artists and music workers and that is why Support Act exists.

“We are here to provide practical and financial support for our musical community when they need it most and this campaign funds these crisis relief services.”
