City of Sydney offering live music grants to grow businesses

PRESS RELEASE:

Are you looking to grow your business at night? Or keen to introduce live music and performances at your venue? We have new grants that can help you do this.

The business support grant program fosters strong and sustainable local economies by supporting proposals that stimulate business and economic activity.

It provides matched support for businesses, property owners and not-for-profit organisations to increase business offerings and programming at night. The program also aims to increase the quantity and quality of live music and performance venues and programming.

• Live music and performance – matched grant up to $30,000 for venue improvements to grow and enhance the quality and quantity of programming.

• Night-time diversification – matched grant up to $30,000 for 1 or 2 years for programming at night (6pm to 6am) to encourage increased variety of offerings in commercial precincts.


Applications for these grants close promptly at 5pm on Monday 13 November 2017.

Before you apply

There are a few things you should do before you are ready to apply:

• Read the critical information for your chosen program including the grants and sponsorship policy and guidelines.
• Make sure your project is eligible under the program you are applying for. There are strict guidelines around who can apply and when projects can occur.
• Also, ensure your project is located in our area or provides significant benefit to local residents and businesses.
