Chart Wrap: Swift debuts at #1, Sheeran holds steady

Hot 100 The Hot 100 sees Ed Sheeran hold #1 and Taylor Swift hold #2 for a second week in a row withThinking Out Loud andShake It Off,respectively. Calvin Harris & John Newman’sBlame has made it back up to #3, its previous peak; although it looks as if it won’t be moving higher anytime soon. Becky G’sShower has progressed further up the Top 10 now sitting at #7, up from last week’s #10. At #8 is a new entry in the Top 10 from The Script withSuperheroes, which is up from last week’s #18 and is one of this week’s most moved tracks. Sam Smith’sI’m Not The Only One also makes its entry into the Top 10 at #9, three positions up from last week’s #12. There are some high movers this week in the form of Jessica Mauboy’sCan I Get A Moment which is up at #19 from #29, Sigma & Paloma Faith’sChanging, which received a burst of airplay pushing it to #33 from last week’s #55 and Peking Duk’s latest singleTake Me Over, which is now at #46 from last week’s #57,a new high point for the track. This week’s most moved track is a re-current one in the form of Lorde’sRoyals which only just re-entered the chart last week. It is now back at #68, up from last week’s #94, a total of 26 positions. There are also some notable debuts within the Top 50 from Guy Sebastian & 2 Chainz’sStay With Me which enters at #48, Marlisa’sStand By Youat #32 and Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding’sOutside at #26. ARIA Singles Ed Sheeran still tops the ARIA Singles chart as well withThinking Out Loud sitting at #1 for its third week now. Marlisa also still holds #2 withStand By You after debuting there last week. Taylor Swift’sShake It Off has managed to make back some ground after falling down to #4 by moving back up to #3 this week. It’s only a matter of time before this track starts to slowly fall out of the Top 10. At #5 is a new debut from X-Factor runner up Dean Ray’sComing Back,meanwhile Meghan Trainor’sLips Are Movindebuts at #7, both exceptionally high debuts for the Singles charts. One other noteworthy debut falls just short of the Top 10, Justice Crew’sRise & Fall which enters at #11. Marlon Roudette’sWhen The Beat Drops Out continues its steady climb of the chart this week landing at #15, up from #28, a new high point for the track. Hilltop Hoods’Cosby Sweater also enjoys a new peak at #17, breaking into the Top 20. ARIA Albums Another week, another slew of artists debuting in the Top 10 of the ARIA Albums charts. At #1 is the latest from Taylor Swift,1989, which is her third consecutive #1 album and her fifth studio album overall. At #2 is the twelfth studio album form Human NatureJukebox, and at #3 is the new album from Flight Facilities titledDown To Earth. At #9 is the latest from Ben Howard withI Forget Where We Were making its debut in the chart. It becomes his first entry to land in the Top 50.
