Casii Williams and John McNamara Move Up To Top Positions in the Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week Casii Williams rises to #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, whilst John McNamara moves into #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Casii Williams, the Northern Territory-based singer, has taken out #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with How Can I Live. The lush and slow-building electronic track was included on FBi Radio Sydney’s New Music List, with Desert Divas Volume II, the compilation in which Casii features on, earning PBS FM Melbourne’s Feature Album of the Week and also an inclusion on Triple R Melbourne’s Soundscapes and 2SER Sydney’s Servin’ Up. How Can I Live has received airplay across the country, including CAAMA in NT, Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, 6HFM, Voice of The Avon, and Radio Mama in WA, Umeewarra Media, 5 Triple Z, Fleurieu FM, Tribe FM and Radio Alexandrina in SA, 2AIR, SWRFM, Eastside Radio, Nambucca Valley Radio, FBi Radio, Bay FM and 2BAR in NSW, as well as OCR FM, 96.5 Inner FM, Radio Murrindindi, Voice FM, Otways Community Radio, Tribe FM, 99.9 Voice FM and WMAfm in VIC.

John McNamara moves up to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart, during his third week charting with Bad Reputation. Watch the official Rollin’ With It album teaser, as featured via Amrap pages on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane, 96.5 Inner FM in VIC, Radio Eastside and 2NUR in NSW, as well as Voice of the Avon andHarvey Community Radio in WA. Bad Reputation has received nationwide airplay including from Artsound in the ACT, City Park Radio in TAS, radioksa and 5 Triple Z in SA, Coast FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 2BOB Radio, TLC FM and 2SEA in NSW, as well as Seymour FM, 3BBB, 3NRG, Eastern FM, #MGB Wilderness Radio, 3NOW, Yarra Valley FM, 96.5 Inner FM and 94.7 The Pulse in VIC.

Sydney’s Angie debuts in the Amrap Metro Chart with A Ring taking out #2 in the chart. Angie’s third album Shyness is RTRFM’s Feature Album of the Week and also features on 2ser Sydney’s Servin’ Up, with A Ring receiving airplay from Voice of the Avon in WA, 5 Triple Z, Radio Alexandrina and Three D Radio in SA, as well as 2OCB, Northside Radio and Edge FM in NSW.

Joe Geia enters the Amrap Regional Chart at #2 with North South East & West. The reggae-dub track which was penned about environmental destruction, has received airplay support from Radio Mama in WA, Gin Gin’s Own, Noosa Community Radio and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, Radio Alexandrina, Tribe FM, Radioksa and Umeewarra Media in SA, 3NOW, Tribe FM, 96.5 Inner FM and WMAfm in VIC, as well as 2NVR, Bay FM, 2BOB, 2AIR, Highland FM and Eastside Radio in NSW.

Red Red Krovvy continue their presence in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Holiday taking out #3 this week. The catchy and mean garage-punk track has been included on SYN Radio Melbourne’s Sweet 16 and Red Red Krovvy’s self-titled debut album has been included in 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Music Department Picks.Holiday has earned airplay from 5 Triple Z in SA, 2EAR FM, Tank FM and 2SEA in NSW, as well as 3WAY, OCR FM, 3MDR, and 96.5 Inner FM in VIC.

Karin Page moves up to #3 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Still Got You. Watch the official video for the charting track as featured via Amrap pages on station websites including Voice of the Avon in WA,96.5 Inner FM and 3WAY FM, in VIC as well as Northside Radio and 2MCR in NSW. Still Got You has received airplay support from Radio Mama in WA, Radio Nambucca, 2EAR, and 2AAA in NSW, Fraser Coast Community Radio, 4ZZZ and Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, Fleurieu FM, 5 Triple Z and Radio Alexandrina in SA, as well as 3NOW, 3BBB, 96.5 Inner FM, Otways Community Radio, Whitehorse Boroondara FM, 3MGB, Radio Murrindindi, and 94.7 The Pulse in VIC.

Methyl Ethel continue to dominate in the Amrap Metro Chart, taking out #4 with L’Heure des Sorcières. Jake Webb, lead singer of the Perth-based band, joined Lauren and Simon on Breaking and Entering at Triple R Melbourne for an enthralling interview, where they discussed sophomore album Everything Is Forgotten,the sounds and textures prevalent on the record, and all things Methyl Ethel. Everything Is Forgotten was FBi Radio Sydney’s Album of the Week, featured on Triple R Melbourne’s Soundscapes, 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Music Department Picks and also 2SER Sydney’s Servin Up, whilst charting track L’Heure des Sorcières was included on Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music List.

Melbourne band Saskwatch appear at #4 in the Amrap Regional Chart, whilst also charting at #7 in the Amrap Metro Chart with the first single off their fourth LP,December Nights. The surf-rock psych track, with groove-heavy bass and twinkling flute, was added to RTRFM Perth’s Sound Selection, 2SER Sydney’s Servin’ Up and also features on SYN Radio’s Sweet 16.

The Pink Tiles place at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Time For Love featuring in the chart for the fifth week running. The Pink Tiles were invited to be a part of PBS FM Melbourne’s Drive LiveExtravaganza, where the highlights, including The Pink Tiles live-to-air set, are available to listen to here. Brisbane-based band WAAX hold onto #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Nothing Is Always. The furious and heavily charged rock track has been included on FBi Sydney’s New Music List, Edge Radio Hobart’s New Music List and 4ZZZ Brisbane’s Top 20, alongside further airplay from Fleurieu FM in SA, RTRFM, Voice of the Avon, and HFM in WA, 3MDR, 3WAY FM, OCR FM and 3WBC in VIC, as well as 2SEA, Yass FM, 2SER, Bay FM and 2NSB in NSW.

Johnny Chester debuts in the Amrap Regional Chart at #6 with Long Distance Lover. The country track, released on his fifty-sixth anniversary as a recording artist, has earned airplay support from Radio Mama in WA, Fraser Coast FM and Gin Gin’s Own in QLD, 2AIR FM, STA FM and The Voice of Goulburn in NSW, Coast FM, Fleurieu FM, Trax FM and 5 Triple Z in SA, as well as 94.7 The Pulse, 979fm, 3WAY, Whitehorse Boroondara FM, 98.5 Apple FM, Triple H, 3BBB, 3RPP and 3SCB in VIC.

Kirsty Lee Akers enters the Amrap Regional Chart with Wake Me Up When You’re Sober taking out #7. The mesmerising indie-electronic track earned radio airplay from CAAMA NT, Radio 4EB and Noosa Community Radio in QLD, 5 Triple Z and Radio Alexandria in SA, 96.5 Inner Fm, 3WBC, 3NRG and Yarra Valley in VIC as well as FBi Radio, Radio Northern Beaches, SWRFM and 2EAR in NSW.

Jonti enters the Amrap Metro Chart with Scrood taking out #10. Watch the official video for the charting track as featured via Amrap pages, on station websites including Triple RMelbourne, FBi Radio Sydney and RTRFM Perth. Scrood was featured on FBi Sydney’s New Music List and received further airplay from 5 Triple Z in SA as well as 3WAY FM in VIC.

The Wilcannia Mob: Intergeneration makes their first appearance in Amrap Regional Chart, with Our Country, Our Way taking out #10. The hip-hop track received airplay from CAAMA NT, Radio Mama in WA, Fraser Coast FM and 4ZZZ in QLD, FBi, Bay FM, Northside Radio and 2SEA in NSW, 5 Triple Z, Tribe FM, Radio Adelaide, WOW FM and Umeewarra Media in SA as well as Sunraysia Community Radio, 3WBC, Horsham, 96.5 Inner FM, and Seymour FM in VIC.
