Caroline Australia team with UK EDM label Tru Thoughts

Former Editor

Caroline Australia has announced a partnership with UK EDM independent Tru Thoughts.

Home to Quantic, Nostalgia 77, Bonobo, Alice Russell, TM Juke – and Australia’s own Kylie Auldist and Lance Ferguson (of the Bamboos) with his solo project Lanu – the 15-year-old Brighton label will now selectively push its artists through Caroline’s Australian flagship.

The first offering through the partnership is Quantic’s new album Magnetica, the fifth studio LP from Colombian-based DJ/producer/musician Will Holland. Magnetica is set for release May 9.

Caroline are also expected to announce the release of Lanu’s next offering in the coming weeks.

Universal Music Australia (UMA) launched the autonomous Caroline Australia on May 20 last year as a label services arm with Tim Janes as General Manager. It launched with a slew of local and international label partners like Resist (La Dispute), Spunk (Mogwai, Tiny Ruins), Dine Alone (City & Colour, We Are Scientists), Popfrenzy (Jonathan Boulet) and Nuclear Blast (Sepultura, Suicide Silence).

Caroline Australia was also the first affiliate for Cooking Vinyl Australia (Kate Miller-Heidke, The Pretty Reckless, Calling All Cars), which was launched by Shock alumni Leigh Gruppetta and Stu Harvey last September.
