Busby Marou ink deal with Footstomp/Kadence Management
North Queensland duo Busby Marou have signed with Footstomp/Kadence Management after an amicable parting of ways with their manager of eleven years, Josh Jones.
Since 2008 Jones has handled the band’s affairs in between running his company QLD Festivals & Events (QFE).
But with last year proving to be a hectic one for both Busby Marou and QFE, the decision was made for management to be taken over by Footstomp/Kadence.
Busby Marou commented on the change, “Jeremy, Jonesy and I have always considered Busby Marou as a trio.
“This experience has taken us beyond our wildest dreams as a band and Jonesy will always be part of the family.
“We are about to embark on the most exciting phase of our career and having Footstomp/Kadence on board as full time management makes perfect sense.”
Jones added, “In my case, stepping down from managing your best mates after eleven years is bittersweet.
“2017 was the biggest year on record for both Busby Marou and QLD Festivals & Events, so much so that I can no longer juggle the responsibilities of both roles.
“We’ve had some amazing experiences together, both musically and culturally, but landing a #1 album in 2017 (with Postcards From The Shell House) was certainly a highlight and a very proud moment for me personally.
“I’ll miss our days on road together and all the antics that come with relentless touring but my FOMO will be certainly be eased while I’m trolling their social media accounts from the new QFE office in Noosa!
“I have no doubt the best years are yet to come for Busby Marou and I look forward to watching from the sidelines.”
Busby Marou’s relationship with Footstomp Music began in 2010, with the record label and as co-management.
This partnership led to their signing to Warner Music Australia, booking agency Select Music and a publishing deal with Sony ATV.
During this time, Busby Marou also introduced Footstomp to singer songwriter Tia Gostelow, who is now co-managed by the company.
Busby Marou finished 2017 playing their biggest ever headliner to over 3,000 people in Rockhampton at their own One Hot Night Festival.
Their ‘Days Of Gold’ was selected as a theme song for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and new single ‘Got Your Back’ was the most added track to radio in December.
This month, they embark on an extensive round of shows that keeps them on the road until June.
