Bills, bills, bills: Beyonce highest paid woman in music by a huge lead

According to US business magazine Forbes,Beyonce is the highest paid woman in music thanks to a gross incomeofUS$105 million in 2017.

She continued her winning streak with a global #1 with the critically acclaimed Lemonade, while the Formation world tour grossed a quarter of a billion dollars.

Runner up was Adele with an earning swing of $69 million, after a massive world tour.

Forbes noted a link between the two great artists. In February, when Adele won the Grammy for Album of the Year, she broke it in two, to give Beyonce one half because she thought she should have won it for Lemonade. (Although the magazine wryly adds that it seems Adele actually broke the Grammy statue by accident).

Taylor Swift was at #3 with in $44 million from the 1989 world tour, while Celine Dion’s lengthy Las Vegas residency put her in fourth spot with $42 million.

Rounding off the Top 5 was Jennifer Lopez with $38 million.
