ARIA Awards winners and nominees enjoy chart success

Following the exciting time that was ARIAs week, TMN takes a look at how the recent spotlight has effected the album and singles sales for many of the winners and nominees.

Chet Faker starts things off with his #1 charting album Built On Glass, which won him the award for Best Male Artist and Best Independent Release, as well as being nominated for Album Of The Year and Breakthrough Artist.The album which sat at #30 last week has been propelled back up to #15, still a long way off of its peak at #1 however.

Sia’s Album Of The Year winning 1000 Forms Of Fear enjoyed plenty of movement with the LPclimbing to #37 from #98. It also won her the award for Best Female Artist and Best Pop Release. Her single Chandelier, which featured on the album, moved back up to #40 from #52 following winning the award for Best Video as well as being nominated for Song Of The Year.

The re-issue of Iggy Azalea’s The New Classic has seen a healthy dose of sales re-enter the Albums chart at #32 with Reclassified. The New Classic won her the award for Breakthrough Artist not to mention the nominations for Best Urban Album and Best Female Artist. Her single Fancy ft. Charli XCX, which features on the album, also received a nomination for Song Of The Year and moved up to #74 from #83 on the Singles chart.

Best Group winners Sheppard enjoyed a healthy jump in position on the Albums chart with Bombs Away jumping to #35 from #90. The album also received nominations for Album Of The Year, Best Independent Release and Best Pop Release.

Dan Sultan’s Blackbird jumped to #39 from #80 after winning the award for Best Rock Album as well as being nominated for Album Of The Year, Best Independent Release, Best Male Artist and Best Australian Live Act.

Jessica Mauboy has received some impressive sales figures following the ARIAs with her #3 charting album Beautiful re-entering the chart at #19. She was nominated for Album Of The Year as well as Best Female Artist.
