APRA AMCOS unveils program for gaming music conference High Score

AMCOS’ High Score: Composition and Sound Art for Gaming event is going virtual once again in 2021.

Featuring keynotes, panels, feedback and networking sessions, the annual will take place as a free two-day online event this year between Saturday October 2 and Sunday October 3, with organisers touting this year’s conference as its biggest yet.

Appearing as keynote speakers for this year’s are California-based composer and sound designers Julie Buchanan (Say No! More) and Jordan Chin (Monster Train), while ABC’s Spawn Point host Angharad ‘Rad’ Yeo and journalist Jini Maxwell will serve as hosts.

Other notable events at this year’s include a session with Orchestra conductor Nicolette Fraillon, as well as educational sessions with Chel Wong, Beethoven & Dinosaur, Zander Hulme and Playside Studios.

As part of Melbourne International Games Week, a further spin-off event High Score: Co-op will also allow for AMCOS members to work with games composer Chris O’Neill to assist in composing tracks for the upcoming electronic music game Rhythm XD.
