Apple Music now available on Sonos

Apple Music is the latest streaming service to be available on Sonos audio products. It is currently available on beta form for subscribers who signed to test it out.

The full version is expected in the first quarter of 2016 after any issues are ironed out, according to Sonos.

Apple Music, with a catalogue of 30 million songs and curated playlists, joins Spotify, Pandora, Tidal and Google Play Music in being able to be streamed to Sonos speakers.

Eddy Cue, SVP of Internet Software and Services at Apple announced back in June of the company’s plan to team up with Sonos. But, he said at the time, “It’s important to get integration right the first time out.”

The Sonos connection is important for Apple Music’s growth. Founded in 2002, Sonos has become the first wireless music system to be widely adopted by audiophiles.

An CE Pro analysis of 100 brands found that 87% of dealers used Sonos. In comparison, rival audio brands Bose, Denon/Heos and Soundcast only had 7% while Control and NuVo had 6.
