Amrap Chart Wrap – Perth Represent in Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the Top 10 tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week sees heavy Perth representation in the community radio charts, while Sydney's Royal Headache and Matt Corby take the #1 spots.

Royal Headache have held onto #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Another World. Listen to them interviewed and guest programming FBi Radio's The Bridge Sydney music program. Their new album High has gone down well at metro stations across the country, picking up Album of the Week at Triple R Melbourne and FBi Radio Sydney, Feature Record on PBS Melbourne and RTR FM Perth and spots in 4ZZZ Brisbane's Top 20 and 2ser Sydney's SERvin’ Up! lists. The song has received additional airplay on Hills Radio in SA, 4EB in QLD, King Island Community Radio in TAS, SYN, Valley FM, UGFM, 3MDR, Voice FM, Inner FM and 3RPC in VIC, as well as Yass FM, 2RDJ, 2RRR, 2SEA, Norfolk Island Radio and Bay FM in NSW.

Matt Corby takes #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart and #3 in the Amrap Metro Chart with his new acapella gospel single Monday. Listen to his interview on Arvos on FBi Radio Sydney, chatting about why less is sometimes more and explaining where the loop-filled single gets its name from. Corby has a long history with his hometown station, having performed at their annual SMAC Awards ceremony back in 2011. Watch this live performance clip of the last time he stepped into the FBi Radio studio.The song has received further airplay at 89.7 FM in WA, Valley FM and Fraser Coast Community Radio in QLD, WOW FM, 5EFM and PBA FM in SA, TLC FM, Nambucca Valley Radio, Port Stephens FM and Bay FM in NSW, as well as JOY 94.9, Main FM, Casey Radio, 3WAY FM and Apple FM in VIC.

Terrible Truths has climbed to #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with See Straight having picked up feature album on RTR FM Perth and a spot in FBi Radio's adds list. Listen to their set recorded live in Triple R's Performance Space earlier this year. The Cactus Channel is another band gaining success in regional and metro areas alike, taking #2 in the Amrap Regional Chart and #9 in the Amrap Metro Chart with their offbeat new single Kill the Doubt, feat. Chet Faker. Listen to their interview on Afterglow on PBS FM Melbourne earlier this year talking the perils of playing in a ten-piece. Darvid also dropped in on Triple R Melbourne's Local and/or General along with Tristan from Hope Street Recordings, talking home recording, sound production and technique.

Sydney three piece Little May are going strong in the Amrap Metro Chart, coming in at #5 with their 'ghost folk' single Seven Hours. Listen to their interview and live-to-air performance on Arvos on FBi Radio, taking us back to their very beginnings, winning a $50 bar tab at their first open mic night. Their new album For the Company picked up Album of the Week on FBi Radio Sydney and a position in PBS Melbourne's Top 10 Feature Records.

Perth's Stillwater Giants debut at #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart with Patience. Listen to Kyle and Angus of the band, talking cheddar on RTR FM's Drivetime last week. The band have received a lot of support from their hometown station, also picking up a spot in last week's Sound Selection.

The Cat Empire have entered the Amrap Regional Chart at #7 with Wolves. Watch the band's off-the-cuff backstage rendition of the latin dancefloor single as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 4ZZZ Brisbane and North West FM and 97.9 FM in VIC. The clip features co-vocalist Harry Angus on the ice bucket.

David Craft has joined the ranks of the Amrap Metro Chart at lucky #7 with the storytelling single Milked Out, also taking #10 in the Amrap Regional Chart. Craft dropped by the RTR FM studio on Breakfast with Caitlin playing an unreleased and untitled track. Watch the nostalgia inducing film clip as displayed on station sites including Highland FM in NSW, and 4ZZZ and 4UFM in QLD.

Melbourne Ska Orchestra take #8 in the Amrap Regional Chart with Satellite. Members of the band dropped in for a chat with Systa BB from The Good, The Dub and the Global on Triple R Melbourne, talking touring with 20 members and Istanbul's influence on their new record. Pat Powell from the band also caught up with Lady Lu on FBi Radio's Foreigndub Airwayvs discussing the making of the track's space age official film clip. Melbourne act Dan Flynn and The State of Things entered the Metro Chart this week at #8 with Heavy Lies the Crown. The band picked up a spot in PBS FM Melbourne's Top 10 Feature Records. Cookin' on 3 Burners enter the Amrap Regional Chart at #9 with The Writing's On The Wall feat. special guest Tex Perkins. Watch the official film clip featured on station websites including 4ZZZ in Brisbane, TYGA FM in TAS, Harvey Community Radio in WA as well as Triple R and North West FM in VIC. The track has received additional airplay at stations including 2XX in ACT, Triple T in QLD, 89.7 FM and Tjuma FM in WA, Radio Adelaide, PBA FM and Hills Radio in SA, Port Stephens FM, Nambucca Valley Radio, 2SEA and Eastside Radio in NSW, as well as Sunraysia Community Radio, OCR FM, NRG FM, 3RPC, Inner FM and UGFM in VIC.

The Meanies have squeezed into the Amrap Metro Chart at #10 with Freakout Forever. Listen to their chat with long-time fan Nicole Tadpole on Triple R's Respect the Rock.
