Two Steps on the Water and Mia Dyson Move Into The Top Of The Community Radio Charts

The Amrap Metro and Amrap Regional Charts provide insight into what’s gaining airplay and attention on community radio. The charts show the top ten tracks ordered for airplay by community broadcasters through the Amrap’s AirIt music distribution service. This week, Two Steps on the Water (above) have risen to #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart, with Mia Dyson climbing into #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart.

Two Steps on the Water have moved into #1 in the Amrap Metro Chart with their organ-drive and emotionally charged track ‘Hold Me’. Watch the official video for the charting track as featured via Amrap Pages on station websites including 4ZZZ in Brisbane, 107.3 HFM in WA, FBi Radio in Sydney, as well as 3MDR and Triple R in VIC. Sword Songs, which is Two Steps on the Water’s latest album, was PBS FM Melbourne’s Feature Album, and SYN’s Aussie Album of the Week. ‘Hold Me’, the first song that the band has recorded without a guitar part, was included in Triple R’s Soundscapes, with additional airplay from Edge Radio in Hobart, 107.3 HFM in WA, 5 Triple Z and Three D Radio in SA, 2SER, 2SEA and 2SWR in NSW, Radio 4EB, 4NAG and Fraser Coast FM in QLD as well as OCR FM, PBS FM, SYN, Triple R and 3MGB in VIC .

Mia Dyson ascends to #1 in the Amrap Regional Chart with ‘Gambling’. The blues-roots track, which is the first taste of Mia Dyson’s upcoming new album, has earned airplay from stations including Artsound FM in ACT, Star FM and City Park Radio in TAS, Harvey Community Radio, Voice of the Avon and KCR FM in WA, Radio Alexandrina, 5 Triple Z, and Fleurieu FM in SA, 4ZZZ, Sunshine FM, Coast FM, Noosa FM and Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 2BOB, 2BAY FM, TLCFM, 2MCR, Nambucca Valley Radio, Highland FM, Northside Radio and Radio Norfolk in NSW, as well as 3MGB, 3RPC, Eastern FM, OCR FM, 979fm, 3CR, 3WAY FM, 99/1 Smart FM, UGFM – Radio Murrindindi, 3MDR, and 99.9 Voice FM in VIC.

Lazertits appear at #2 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Lil’ Sister’. Amy from Lazertits, joined by Krystal of Swim Team, stopped by Maps on Triple R Melbourne. They both discussed their recent split 7”, each band’s respective musical processes and the differences and similarities between them, their matching video clips for the singles, and being a part of a supportive musical community. Sadie and Jay have leapt into #2 in the Amrap Regional Chart with ‘Red Red Dirt’. Swim Team have held onto #3 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Positively Hopeless’. Baker Boy debuts at #4 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Marryuna’. The anthemic summer song, which also features Baker Boy’s cousin Yirrmal’s vocals in the chorus, was included in SYN’s Sweet 16, with further community radio support from Radio 4EB in QLD, 2RSR and 2SEA in NSW, 6FX, 6EBA and 107.3 HFM in WA, 3HOT, 979fm, PBS FM and Triple R in VIC, Radio Alexandrina, WOWFM, 5UMA, 5BBB, Three D Radio and 5 Triple Z in SA.

Jook Joint Band enter the Amrap Regional Chart at #4 with the track ‘What’s The Matter With The Mill’. The blues/roots track has received airplay from stations including 5 Triple Z in SA, Fraser Coast FM in QLD, RTR FM, Voice of The Avon and Radio Mama in WA, 2AIR FM, 2GCR and Highland FM in NSW as well as 3WAY FM, 99.1 Smart FM, 3GCR, 99.9 Voice FM, 3MDR, R Double P FM, 3RPC and Eastern FM in VIC.

Debuting at #5 in the Amrap Metro Chart is Noire with ‘He’s My Baby’. Appearing for the first time in the Amrap Regional Chart is Black Bird Hum, currently charting at #5 with ‘Down’. Alice Ivy takes out #6 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Be Friends’. The electronic hip-hop track, which features sun-drenched synths and crunchy drums, was included in SYN’s Sweet 16, as well as FBi Radio’s New Music List, with further spins from Fraser Coast FM in QLD, 2EAR FM and 2BAY in NSW, 4UFM and 107.3 HFM in WA, 5 Triple Z, WOW FM and 5BBB in SA as well as 3HOT, 3NRG, Seymour FM and OCR FM, 3WAY FM in VIC.

Ecca Vandal has debuted at #6 in the Amrap Regional Chart, alongside holding onto #10 in the Amrap Metro Chart with ‘Future Heroine’. Babyshakes from Full Flower Moon Band joined The Band Next Door on 2ser Sydney, where she spoke about taking her debut EP and morphing and re-creating the tracks into the debut album Chinatown.
