Troye Sivan features in first episode of Universal Music Australia’s new podcast

Universal Music Australia have announced they’re branching out into the podcast landscape with their new music based program Other Side Of The Tracks in partnership with Apple Podcasts and Acast Australia.

As reported in Radio Today recorded at Sydney’s Forbes Street Studios and hosted by former triple j presenter Dom Alessio, each episode will look behind an artist’s brand new album.

“The arrival of Universal Music Australia into the podcasting space marks a big day for the medium,” says Acast Australia’s Content Director, Guy Scott-Wilson.

“With a majority of music now being consumed digitally, content of this nature makes so much sense. Other Side of the Tracks will be audio liner notes, for a new generation of music fans.”

Two of the first five episodes of the show are available now, featuring Aussie Golden Globe nominee Troye Sivan talking Bloom and UK teen sensation Yungblud on 21st Century Liability.

“As the music industry continues to evolve digitally, artists have lost the ability to tell the stories behind their tracks and credit collaborators in the line/sleeve notes,” said UMA’s managing director, digital media & emerging technologies Stephen Hunt.

“We wanted to create a format for the streaming age that connects the stories behind the tracks to the fans and felt that a podcast was the perfect vehicle to do so.”

Future episodes with include the likes of Keith Urban and his latest LP Graffiti U, Snow Patrol and their seventh album Wildness, Alessia Cara and her new album The Pains of Growing and Greta Van Fleet for their debut album Anthem of the Peaceful Army.
