The latest iteration of “The Voice Australia” will premiere at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 on both Channel 7 and the Seven Network’s streaming service 7Plus.
Channel 7 has released a sneak peak of what’s to come ahead of the premiere.
The broadcaster said dreams will be made this season.
“Expect spine-tingling performances, epic chair-turning moments and standing ovations during the unmissable new season,” it said.
Channel 7 has previously said purchasing the format was a “masterstroke” and said it will be the “biggest show in 2022”.
Host Sonia Kruger went so far as to say its launch on Channel 7 in 2021 was “the biggest launch of an entertainment property in 30 years”, and predicted this year it would kick off with an even bigger bang.
Katie Finney, the director of 7RED, said the program was also Channel 7’s “#1 program for attention”.
Its previous broadcaster, Channel 9, has admitted it misses making the show, but countered that as the show skewed slightly older in its viewing demographic, the show was no longer a fit for its network which targets women aged 25 to 54.
Adrian Swift, the Nine Network’s head of content production and development, told The Music Network’s sister publication Variety Australia he had a great time making “The Voice” over its nine-year run at Nine.
“The only reason I regret letting it go is it’s such a great show,” he said.
“We loved making that show. Michael Healy [Nine’s director of television], me, John Walsh [executive producer at Nine], Hamish Turner [Nine’s director of programming], we loved making that show.”
The show will be up against the new “MasterChef Australia: Fans and Favourites” on Channel 10 and the premiere of “Lego Masters” on Channel 9.
