Support Act appoints Bec Adams & Jonathan Carter as Board observers

The music industry’s charity organisation, Support Act, has appointed two new observers to its Board.

Bec Adams, Sony Music Australia’s senior director of marketing, joins as part of The Observership Program, which was also responsible for appointing Universal’s Michelle Tier as the ARIA Board observer last week.

The Observership Program gets young, talented and energetic individuals involved in the Boards of non-profit organisations in a 12-month structured program.

Adams, who has also held roles at Warner Music Australia and Columbia Records UK, said it is an honour to be offered a place in the program.

“I have so much admiration for the work Support Act does for our industry, artists and crews, and am excited for the year ahead,” she added.

Joining her as an observer of the Support Act Board will be APRA AMCOS’ head of legal and corporate services, Jonathan Carter.

Carter has over 20 years’ experience working in legal and strategy roles across the creative industries and is a passionate supporter of Australian music.

The chair of Support Act, Sally Howland, said she’s thrilled to welcome both new recruits to the Board.

“These positions offer a unique opportunity to develop talent, whilst at the same time adding value to our organisation and enabling experience for the participants,” she said.

“I look forward to working with Jonathan and Bec.”
