Singles Report: Cross-genre Hailee Steinfeld collab, ZAYN and Sia duet make a play for commercial

Singles Report: Cross-genre Hailee Steinfeld collab, ZAYN and Sia duet make a play for commercial

Radio has some tough choices to make this week after a number of surefire hits get their official service to commercial.

‘Let Me Go’, a collaborative effort betweenHailee SteinfeldandAlesso, featuringFlorida Georgia Lineandwatt, is a well-crafted pop hit that is tipped to lead the additions at radio this week. The release follows Steinfeld’s prior success withGrey on ‘Starving’ ft.Zedd(#5 Hot 100) and ‘Most girls’ (#12).

The other choice (and it’s a good one) isZAYN’s latest cut ‘Dusk Till Dawn’ featuringSia. If that wasn’t enough, the newSam Smithwill also turn heads across radio. The formula hasn’t changed, and that’s a good thing because Sam’s got another hit on the way. Of course, what’s likely to happen is that radio will add all three.

Furthermore, it’s hard to denyWyclef Jean’s new ‘What Happened To Love’ is catchy (and funny), while theGeorge Michaelposthumous release ‘Fantasy’ ticks enough boxes to be a viable commercial radio favourite.

Last week’s Most Added was a hotly contested space. Initially it looked like the competition was betweenGuy Sebastian’s ‘High On Me’ andTaylor Swift’s ‘…Ready For It?’ That soon changed after a flurry of last minute additions came through forU2’s ‘You’re The Best Thing About Me’.

It managed to sneak past Sebastian with over 70 adds across every major network including Nova, Triple M Regional and Hit Regional. Along with the above,Maroon 5cleaned up the rest of radio with ‘What Lovers Do’ ft.SZAfollowing the early additions it received two weeks ago.

While last week saw all radio spins charts dominated by Taylor, it’s not that clear cut this time around. While she still has the unyielding love of Nova, it’sP!NKwho sits atop Hit’s Spins chart with ‘What About Us’, which remains at #1 on the TMN Hot 100, andJonas Blue’s ‘Mama’ that’s the clear favourite on KIIS.
